January 8, 2010 - 3 Advertising wins two national agricultural marketing awards

Albuquerque ad agency 3 won two first-place national agricultural marketing awards today from NAMA, the National Agri-Marketing Association. Winning efforts included campaigns created for Washington, DC-based Growth Energy (a trade group of America's ethanol supporters), and Farm Credit Services Southwest, an Arizona-based credit union for farmers and ranchers. NAMA is the country's largest professional association for ag marketers. Other brands represented in the show included John Deere, Monsanto and Bayer.

December 30, 2009 - 3 Advertising adds to creative department, welcomes Jason Rohrer as senior copywriter

Albuquerque agency 3 Advertising has added Jason Rohrer as a senior copywriter. Jason began his career 10 years ago as a copywriter in San Francisco. Since then, he has worked on clients of every size and projects of every scale. His wide range of brand experience includes Hewlett-Packard, Dell Computers, Club Med, Sprite, Mini Cooper and Bacardi Rum. He also has extensive experience in medical and hospitality advertising.

His work has been honored by several industry awards, including multiple Addy Awards and the Graphis Award Annual. Jason attended the University of Kansas, where he earned a degree in Journalism with an emphasis on Advertising. He later attended one of the nation's most respected creative advertising schools – Portfolio Center in Atlanta. He is coping with a new-found addiction to chile.

Albuquerque's 3 Advertising has hired Maya Oliver as account manager. A graduate of the University of New Mexico, Oliver has an advertising and public relations background and has worked with clients in the tourism, hospitality, finance and retail industries. She will work on local, regional and national accounts at the agency.

In addition, 3 has started new efforts for a national client in the biofuels category, as well as regionally-based work for clients in the restaurant and education categories.

June 22, 2009 - National Museum of Nuclear Science & History work earns more national and international recognition

A branding campaign created by Albuquerque-based 3 Advertising for the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History earned recognition this week from Print Magazine's Regional Design Annual, Graphis Design Annual and the Applied Arts Advertising Annual. Each of the three publications highlights the best work created in the country and the international advertising/design community. The publications will be available in late 2009.

New Mexico-based 3 Advertising won three National ADDY awards for a poster campaign created for the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History. With over 60,000 entries annually, the ADDY Awards are the world's largest and arguably toughest advertising competition. The Albuquerque ad agency won one gold and two silver awards. Other nationally winning firms included BBDO, DDB, Venables Bell & Partners, GSD&M, Publicis and Deutsch.

Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 Advertising won silver and merit awards today from the national Healthcare Advertising Awards. The firm won silver and merit awards for an invitation and print campaign created for the Heart Hospital of New Mexico, as well as a silver award for a print campaign designed for the Center for Prenatal Development.

The Healthcare Advertising Awards is the oldest, largest and most widely respected healthcare advertising awards competition.

April 17, 2009 - 3 Advertising Wins “Best of the Best” Marketer of the Year Award from the NMAMA

3 Advertising, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, won top honors at the New Mexico American Marketing Association's Marketer of the Year (MOY) Awards. The agency won the association's highest honor, Best of the Best, for its integrated campaign created for Nob Hill Bar & Grill. 3 also won four other MOY awards for best direct mail campaign for Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union, best print, website and integrated campaign for Nob Hill Bar & Grill, and a merit award for print for Albuquerque The Magazine.

The NMAMA MOY awards are based on advertising and marketing results. This is the second time the agency has won the Best of the Best recognition.

Albuquerque ad agency 3 won 12 district Addys this month, competing against agencies from New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Texas and Arizona. March 2, 2009 - 3 advertising wins most gold and silver addys at the 2008/9 New Mexico Advertising Federation Awards

Albuquerque's 3 Advertising won 13 gold and 22 silver ADDY awards - the most gold and silver ADDYs awarded for the night - for work entered in print, broadcast, design, collateral and direct marketing categories. This year's ADDYs had more than 400 entries from dozens of New Mexico advertising agencies, design firms and marketers. 3 also won the Advertising Works award, given for overall campaign effectiveness, for the "We love it here" campaign created for Albuquerque the Magazine.

The 2008/2009 NMAF ADDYs were judged by nationally and internationally recognized creative directors, including designer Frederic Averin, David Smith from The Republik, Tim Brunelle from Hello Viking, Charlie Hopper of Young & Laramore and Julie Bowman from Giant Noodle.

Agencies participating at this year's New Mexico ADDYs included McKee Wallwork Cleveland, Esparza Advertising, Rick Johnson & Company, Rome & Gold Creative, Vaughn Wedeen, Cisneros Design, Webb Design, TKO and Red Chair Design.

Albuquerque design firm/advertising agency 3 won a Judge's Choice and six other awards at the first AIGA New Mexico showdown. The agency's winning entries included work from such clients as the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History, Echelon, Albuquerque The Magazine, New Mexico Advertising Federation and the Hearing Group of New Mexico.

Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 won best mark from the Coupe Magazine International Design Awards. The logo was for the Medical Error Reduction Program, or MERP.

November 26, 2008 - Campaign for the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History earns international recognition

Recent poster work created by 3 Advertising for the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History (based in Albuquerque, New Mexico and also known as the Atomic Museum) has earned international awards from How Magazine's International Design Competition as well as press coverage from Ad Age's Creativity Magazine and Adcritic.com. The campaign will also be featured in the exhibit portion of the Communication Arts website starting December 17.

October 1, 2008 - 3 Advertising wins international Wolda awards for logo designs

The inaugural edition of the Worldwide Logo Design Annual, the only logo awards in the world endorsed by ICOGRADA and more than 100 other international design associations and schools, has selected 192 logos for inclusion in its international competition. Two logos from Albuquerque's 3 Advertising, Osuna Nursery and Upaya Wellness Clinic, were selected as finalists. Entries were submitted from hundreds of design firms from 43 countries.

The annual will be available worldwide in early 2009.

Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 Advertising has hired Thea Kinyon, a graduate of the Academy of Art University, as a copywriter. Thea was previously with Mortar in San Francisco.

3 has also added new clients, including the New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority and San Felipe Casino Hollywood, as well as project work for the World Series of Team Roping, the Hearing Group of New Mexico and CSI Aviation.

August 15, 2008 - Logos designed by 3 Advertising to be featured in LogoLounge International Design Annual

LogoLounge, the world's largest online database of logos, has selected three logos from Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 Advertising for its annual collection of best designs. More than 33,000 logos were entered for consideration.

This year's panel of judges included Andreas Karl of Karl Design, Von Glitschka of Glitschka Studios, Michelle Sonderegger of Design Ranch, Sarah Moffat of Turner Duckworth, Jamie Koval of VSA Partners, Vince Frost of Frost Design, Bronwen Rautenbach of The Brand Union and Alex de Janosi of Lippincott.

Work from 3 selected for publication includes Echelon, MERP and CreditStar Software. The book, LogoLounge 5, will be available worldwide in June 2009.

May 23, 2008 - 3 Advertising announces new clients, increased desire for caffeine

Albuquerque ad agency 3 is starting branding work for several new regional and national clients, including Mercy Regional Medical Center in Colorado, Fresh Start Legal in the Midwest, as well as the National Atomic Museum, Omni Sleep Medicine Centers and law firm Butt Thornton & Baehr of New Mexico.

In addition, the agency is working on an identity project for New York and London-based post production company Smoke & Mirrors, known for their work on the Harry Potter and James Bond movie series.

New work is expected to debut later this summer.

April 29, 2008 - 3 Advertising wins five National Healthcare Awards

Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 Advertising won gold, silver and merit awards today from the national Healthcare Advertising Awards. The firm won a gold award for best single print ad and silver for best print campaign for Cosmetic Dentistry of New Mexico. Silver awards were given for t-shirts created for the Center for Prenatal Development as well as a logo for MERP (Medical Error Reduction Program). A merit award was given for a direct mail piece created for PhDx.

The Healthcare Advertising Awards is the oldest, largest and most widely respected healthcare advertising awards competition. The awards are sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report, the leading publication covering all aspects of healthcare marketing, advertising and strategic business development in the U.S.

The competition received a record 4,400 entries, making the awards the largest healthcare advertising awards competition in the world, according to the publication. Entering frims included Albuquerque ad agencies Esparza Advertising and Rick Johnson & Company, as well as national firms such as Devito/Verdi, Della Femina, Northlich, Publicis and R&R Partners.

Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 is featured in the new "Best of Business Card Design" edited by Austin design firm Sibley/Peteet. The Rockport-published book features the most current and innovative business card designs from around the world.

Five designs created by 3 were picked for inclusion in the publication, which also features such firms as Gee + Chung of San Francisco, Sagmeister Inc. of New York and Willoughby Design Group of Kansas City.

The publication is available online and at bookstores worldwide.

March 7, 2008 - It’s 23 for 3 at the Addys: Albuquerque ad agency 3 wins 10 gold and 13 silver awards

Two-year-old New Mexico ad agency/design firm 3 Advertising won the second-highest amount of ADDYs for the second year in a row at the 2007/2008 NMAF ADDYs, including a prestigious Judge’s Choice award for Nob Hill Bar & Grill.

3 won gold and silver ADDYs for work entered in print, broadcast, design, collateral, direct marketing and interactive categories. The agency also won the highest percentage of awards in relation to the amount of work entered. This year's ADDYs had more than 500 entries from nearly three dozen New Mexico advertising agencies and design firms, an all-time high for the event.

The 2007/2008 NMAF ADDYs were judged by creative directors from some of the country’s most influential ad agencies, including Crispin Porter + Bogusky and TDA Advertising, both of Boulder, Colorado; Zig Advertising of Chicago and Gardner Design of Wichita, Kansas.

Agencies participating at this year's NMAF ADDYs included McKee Wallwork Cleveland, Esparza Advertising, Rick Johnson & Company, Rome & Gold Creative, Squires & Company, SUM Agency, Thielen Designs, Vaughn Wedeen, Mudhouse Advertising, DW Turner and TKO.

February 22, 2008 - 3 Advertising wins two Marketer of the Year Awards from New Mexico American Marketing Association

Albuquerque agency/design firm 3 Advertising won two of the six Marketer of the Year awards presented at the 2008 New Mexico American Marketing Association "MOY" event. The awards recognize overall campaign effectiveness and marketing results. This year’s award show had the highest number of entries in the event’s history.

One of the two MOY awards won by the agency was for most effective radio campaign for OSO Technologies, an ISP and data services company based in Albuquerque.

The second MOY award was for the interactive category. The winning entry was for the Old Guys Rule website and accompanying interactive campaign materials. Old Guys Rule is an e-commerce retailer based in Ventura, California.

In addition, 3 Advertising won an Award of Merit in the direct mail category for a campaign created for Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union.

Participating agencies at this year's NMAMA awards included McKee Wallwork Cleveland, Esparza Advertising and Griffin & Associates as well as internal client marketing teams from Advent Solar and TriCore Reference Laboratories.

January 31, 2008 - Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 hires Amy Driscoll, moves to new offices, adds new clients

3 has hired Amy Driscoll as a production artist. Driscoll has 13 years of experience and is a graduate of the University of New Mexico.

In mid-January, the firm moved to a larger office space at 1550 Mercantile, Second Floor, above the REI building in Albuquerque.

3 has also added new clients, including Echelon, a private jet membership service; Get A Grip, a resurfacing company; Nob Hill Bar & Grill, and Cosmetic Dentistry of New Mexico.

The publication, Graphis Logo Design 7, will be available worldwide in 2008.

Corporate identity work from 3 Advertising received gold awards today from the 2007 Graphis International Letterhead competition. 3 won gold awards for clients including Measure Twice of Montana.

The Graphis letterhead competition is the largest of its kind in the world. Other winning design firms include Duffy & Partners, TBWA/Chiat/Day, Taxi Canada, Goodby Silverstein, Hornall Anderson and Sandstrom Design. The publication will be available worldwide in 2008.

Albuquerque advertising agency/design firm 3 won the NMAMA's overall "Best of the Best" award for its campaign launching the e-commerce website for California-based client Old Guys Rule (http://www.oldguysrule.com). The campaign also won a Marketer of the Year award in the interactive category and a merit award in the integrated campaign category.

The awards are based on overall results of the marketing effort. Sales and traffic for OldGuysRule.com exceeded expectations, and the site has enjoyed a higher-than-average conversion rate.

April 26, 2007 - 3 wins national award recognition for branding work created for Center for Prenatal Development

Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 won silver and bronze award recognition from the National Healthcare Advertising Awards for its client, the Center for Prenatal Development (CPD). The Silver Award was for the practice's logo and letterhead; the Bronze Award was for a print campaign effort.

The Healthcare Marketing/Advertising Awards is known as the oldest and most widely respected healthcare advertising awards competition. This year, the competition received a record 4,300 entries, making it the largest healthcare advertising awards competition in the country.

Other winning agencies include DeVito/Verdi, Hill Holiday, R&R Partners, Brokaw and Della Femina.

March 24, 2007 - 3 makes 28 at the 2006 Addys: 18-month-old Albuquerque Ad Agency Earns 8 Golds and 20 Silvers

3, Albuquerque’s newest full-service ad agency/design firm, won 8 gold and 20 silver ADDY awards at this year’s NMAF ADDY Awards, earning the second-highest amount of total ADDYs in the statewide competition. Work created during 2006 was eligible for judging; 3 opened its doors during the latter part of 2005.

3 won gold and silver ADDYs for work entered in print, design, collateral, direct marketing and interactive categories. Nearly 50% of the entries the agency submitted won some kind of recognition at this year’s show, which had approximately 450 entries from 35 entering agencies.

This year’s NMAF ADDYs were judged by creative directors from some of the country’s largest and most influential ad agencies, including Crispin Porter + Bogusky, The Richards Group and McKinney.

Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 has hired media director Sue K Lewis to run the agency's media planning department. Sue will be responsible for all media strategy, planning and buying needs for the agency’s growing list of clients.

Sue has 20 years of media experience, including previous roles as associate media director for Nike while at Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, media director for Walt Disney Attractions in Orlando, senior vice president at Yesawich, Pepperdine & Brown, and most recently as media director for Young & Laramore/EchoPoint Media in Indianapolis.

February 8, 2007 - 3 earns more international award recognition for creative work

Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 has been selected as one of 130 firms worldwide for inclusion in the Great Design Show. The competition selected winners from more than 8,000 entries submitted worldwide. Other winning agencies and companies include Carmichael Lynch, VSA Partners, Martin Williams and Virgin Records.

3 was also selected as an award-winning finalist for Debut Publications “Branded” annual, featuring 130 of the best logos from around the world. The publication is based in the United Kingdom. The annual will be available worldwide later this year.

New campaigns will debut in late 2006 and early 2007.

In other news, winter debuted using a mixed media approach of snow, wind and ice.

Print Magazine, one of the premier worldwide publications celebrating creativity in advertising and design, has selected five pieces from Albuquerque ad agency/design firm 3 for inclusion in its yearly annual. The magazine selected work the agency created for Measure Twice, a general contractor based in Montana; a wedding invitation for one of the firm’s partners, a t-shirt design and logo for Sackwear.com and its own "3" logo.

The magazine’s advertising and design competition receives more than 20,000 entries each year for consideration. The publication highlights the best work from each region of the United States. The annual will appear on newsstands in the fall of 2006.

The One Show and the Graphis Design Annual, two of the most respected international creative award publications, gave awards this week to Albuquerque advertising/design firm 3. Winners were selected from thousands of entries from more than 55 countries.

The two award shows are judged by top creative leaders from around the world. Acceptance into either publication is considered a top career achievement in advertising and design circles.

3's award-winning design for both shows was for the agency's corporate identity package, which humorously indicates “3 things to know” about each employee and the agency itself.

April 13, 2006 - 3 Wins Nine Regional ADDYs and International Recognition for Logo Work

3 won a total of nine regional ADDYs at the American Advertising Federation's District 12 competition. The show featured gold and silver ADDY-winning work from previously judged competitions in New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Utah and Wyoming. 3 won more gold district ADDYs than any other Albuquerque agency.

Gold-winning work for the seven-month-old firm included its Measure Twice print campaign for a general contractor based in Montana, as well as a custom wedding invitation.

3 also earned its first international recognition from the Identity Magazine International Design Show, based in Russia. The judges were some of the top design names from around the world, including industry icons Margo Chase, Bill Gardner and Pentagram’s David Hillman. Logos developed by 3 for Measure Twice and the Center for Prenatal Development were short-listed.

March 14, 2006 - 3 earns 14 Gold and Silver ADDYs, Two of 3’s Partners Are Recognized for Best of Show

3 earned six gold and eight silver ADDY awards at this year’s New Mexico Advertising Federation award show. Work created during 2005 was eligible for judging; 3 had been open for only the last four months of that year.

In addition, two of 3’s partners, Sam Maclay and Tim McGrath, were Best of Show recipients for a United Blood Services campaign they helped create at their previous agency. It was Maclay’s fifth Best of Show award in a row as a creative director and the third Best of Show award for McGrath and Maclay as a creative team. The Best of Show award is the ADDYs’ top honor.

3 won gold ADDYs for work entered in print, design and interactive categories. Nearly 60% of the entries the agency submitted won some kind of recognition at the show, which had approximately 400 entries this year.

December 31, 2005 - New Albuquerque Ad Agency 3 Announces First Clients, New Hire

Albuquerque’s newest full-service design and advertising agency, 3, opened doors on September 1, 2005, and already has a list of more than 10 clients from New Mexico and around the country. The firm has also hired Melissa George as its production manager.

3’s New Mexico clients include the Center for Prenatal Development, Land Rover of Albuquerque and Santa Fe, Del Norte Credit Union and Southwest Learning Centers, among others. Out-of-state clients include Florida real estate developers Miami Road Partners, Montana general contractors Measure Twice, and California-based apparel line, Old Guys Rule.

3 is preparing for the launch of several campaigns and websites at the end of the year and into 2005.

In January 2006, the firm is expanding its offices to accommodate the new growth as well as future new hires.
